1. Policy overview
XCMarkets is firmly committed to preventing money laundering, terrorism financing and other forms of financial crime. This policy summarises the framework we apply across our regulated entities to detect, deter and report such activities.
Our AML programme is built around four pillars: a designated compliance officer, ongoing employee training, internal controls, and independent testing.
2. Customer due diligence (KYC)
Before opening an account we verify the identity of every client using government-issued ID, proof of residential address and, where relevant, proof of source of funds and wealth.
We refresh client information periodically and apply enhanced due diligence on clients identified as higher-risk — for example, politically exposed persons (PEPs) or clients in higher-risk jurisdictions.
3. Transaction monitoring
All deposits, withdrawals and trading activity are subject to ongoing automated and manual monitoring. Unusual patterns — such as inconsistent volumes, mismatched payment sources or wash-trading style activity — trigger investigation and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
4. Sanctions screening
We screen all clients and beneficial owners against international sanctions lists (UN, EU, OFAC, HMT and country-specific lists) at onboarding and on an ongoing basis. We do not provide services to sanctioned individuals or entities.
5. Reporting
Where we have a suspicion of money laundering or terrorism financing we file a Suspicious Activity Report with the relevant financial intelligence unit, in line with our regulatory obligations.
Filing such reports is confidential and we are prohibited from informing the subject of a report about its existence.
6. Record keeping
We retain all client identification records, transaction records and AML investigation files for at least seven years from the date the client relationship ends, in line with applicable law.
7. Training and culture
All employees complete AML training during onboarding and annually thereafter. Senior management oversees the AML programme and reviews its effectiveness at least once a year.
8. Reporting concerns
If you suspect any financial crime related to XCMarkets or its clients, you can report it confidentially to aml@xcmarkets.io. We investigate every report we receive.
